FMs of Jordan, Switzerland hold talks on enhancing two-sided relations

(MENAFN) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met on Wednesday with Swiss Federal Councillor and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties and review recent regional developments, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said.

The ministers emphasized their commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors. Safadi stressed the importance of achieving a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, lifting all restrictions on humanitarian aid, and moving toward a second phase of the ceasefire that could enable a political solution grounded in a just, comprehensive, and enduring peace based on the two-state solution.

They also exchanged views on Syria, with Safadi reaffirming Jordan’s support for reconstruction efforts and emphasizing the need for a process that safeguards Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Both officials agreed to continue coordination and collaborative efforts to promote the shared interests of Jordan and Switzerland.
