Trump arrives in Switzerland to take part in World Economic Forum
The president’s arrival was delayed after his original Air Force One flight was forced to return to Washington due to technical issues. The aircraft turned back shortly after departure and landed at Joint Base Andrews late Tuesday night. Trump later boarded a replacement plane and departed just after midnight, eventually landing at Zurich airport.
Despite the travel disruption, Trump’s scheduled appearance at the forum remains unchanged. He is set to speak to international business leaders and policymakers at 2:30 pm local time, according to forum officials.
The White House explained that the return of the aircraft followed the discovery of a “minor electrical issue” shortly after takeoff, adding that the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution.”
